ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Paul V. Simpson, Esq.
Paul V. Simpson is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley and University of San Francisco School of Law. He is a founding shareholder and president of the law firm of Simpson, Garrity, Innes & Jacuzzi. Mr. Simpson has been representing construction industry employers for almost three decades in state and federal courts and before various administrative agencies, including the NLRB, EEOC, DFEH, DLSE and DOL. He has successfully argued cases before the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and California appellate courts. Mr. Simpson also provides advice and counsel to his employer clients with the goal of litigation avoidance. He is regarded as one of the foremost legal authorities on California wage and hour laws affecting the construction industry and California prevailing wage law. Mr. Simpson has spoken before hundreds of industry groups and authored numerous articles on labor and employment law subjects.

Ronald F. Garrity, Esq.
Mr. Garrity is a shareholder in the law firm of Simpson, Garrity, Innes & Jacuzzi specializing in labor and employment law.  Mr. Garrity represents employers in all facets of labor and employment law, including proprietary information issues, wrongful discharge prevention and litigation, equal employment opportunity matters, uninsured workers' compensation defense, National Labor Relations Board cases, and wage and hour issues.  Mr. Garrity has lectured extensively and published numerous articles on labor and employment law matters.  Mr. Garrity has been voted a Northern California “Super Lawyer” by his peers for several years running.

Marc L. Jacuzzi, Esq.
Mr. Jacuzzi is a shareholder in the law firm of Simpson Garrity, Innes & Jacuzzi specializing in labor and employment law.  He advises both local and national clients regarding all aspects of the employer/employee relationship including hiring and termination issues, wage and hour requirements, employee classification issues, civil rights/discrimination issues, employee investigations, commission plans, employment contracts, employee handbooks and policies, confidential information agreements, reductions in force, leaves of absence issues, employment audits, M&A employment issues, violence in the workplace issues and international employment issues.  Mr. Jacuzzi practices before state and federal courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and other state and federal agencies.  Mr. Jacuzzi is licensed in California and Colorado.
